Widows Fellowship

The Widow's Fellowship brings together a group of ladies who have experienced the loss of a husband. This Ministry was launched on 22nd February 2014. We gather once a month, every last Saturday, for support and fellowship.

The Widows' Fellowship welcomes widows of any age for the purpose of encouragement, support, and fellowship. Although all our circumstances vary, the grief process we experience is quite similar.

Our fellowship includes ladies who have just lost their spouse or have been widowed for many years.  It is helpful for a recent widow to hear how other women coped with the loss of sleep and appetite, financial struggles and feelings that they were "going crazy". As we have all "been there and done that", we are able to empathize and realize that this process can takes years. This is the place widows can  feel comfortable sharing what they are experiencing, as their feelings will not be judged.

We would love to meet new ladies! Feel free to contact the church office for more information and/or to leave your contact information. One of the Fellowship leaders will contact you as soon as possible. God bless you!

Zachariah 7:9-10

Some Scriptures about widows

Exodus 22:22-23

"Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.  If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry."

Isaiah 1:17

"Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause."

1 Timothy 5: 3-5

" Honor widows who are truly widows. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show godliness to their own household and to make some return to their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God. She who is truly a widow, left all alone, has set her hope on God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day."

Psalm 68:5

"Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation."

Zachariah 7:9-10

"Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor.”
